Montessori Happy Kids
An innovative bilingual school to learn and grow differently
Education as an aid to life
Montessori Happy Kids welcomes children aged 3 to 6 in a bilingual, stimulating and caring environment, in Lancy, to give them the keys to tomorrow's world.
Each child receives individualised, caring support to help them develop their full potential and reveal all their talents.

"Let's not raise our children for today's world. That world will have changed by the time they are grown up. Therefore, the priority is to help children cultivate their creative and adaptive faculties." - Maria Montessori

Bilingualism
English and French are taught from an early age with one French and one English educator per class.
All daily activities are conducted in English and French to promote language immersion.
We use positive reinforcement to encourage each child to express themselves in English and French every day. Language learning is achieved through a wide range of fun activities as well as everyday conversation.
-
Eco-responsibility
Our school is respectful of the environment
Choice of ecological materials (furniture, activities...)
Choice of eco-responsible partners (our caterer, KDEKIS, has the “Fourchette Verte” green certification ...)
Raising children's awareness of environmental issues (recycling, water and energy saving…)
Daily activities around nature (gardening, forest outings...)

A Committed Team
Our teachers are selected as much for their background as for their personality.
They are all AMI (Association Montessori International) certified and have a unique experience that allows them to accompany each child in an individual and adapted way.
Our educators also work closely with the parents to communicate on a daily basis about the progress of each child and to establish a genuine co-educational approach.
Happy Kids Montessori School is a member of the Association Montessori Suisse.

The Happy Kids Montessori School proposes an active education, centred on the search for solutions, encouraging the student's autonomy to build his or her own resources and to collaborate in common projects while respecting others and the environment. The Montessori school offers a wide range of activities that allow the acquisition of all the fundamental knowledge (reading, writing, mathematics...), in addition to the discovery of the world through lessons such as history, geography, science, technology and art.

The teaching at Montessori Happy Kids is 100% aligned with the Plan d'Etude Romand and its 7 areas of learning: French, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Arts, Body and Movement, Transversal Skills and General Education. Thus, at the end of their schooling at Montessori Happy Kids, the children have the level (and even more) to return to a traditional school without any problem.

Learning a foreign language from an early age facilitates bilingualism and promotes overall cognitive development, while giving children a way to open up to the world.
● The presence of two teachers per class, one French-speaking and the other English-speaking, allows the children to follow the curriculum of the Plan d'Etude Romand in both languages.
● Fun activities in all areas of learning are offered in English, according to the level of each child. The English-speaking teacher also participates in the children's daily life activities (mealtime, dressing, naptime) to anchor the learning of this language in concrete situations.
● Children are encouraged to speak in English, through individual or small group interactions with the English-speaking teacher.

In a Montessori school, assessment is not a tool used to rank children, let alone to compete with each other. The daily observation of the children by the Montessori guides is a very powerful tool to adapt the teaching to the specific needs of each child. The progress, difficulties and successes of each child are noted every day in order to define a work plan that is as adjusted and effective as possible. Two parent/educator meetings are organised each year to discuss the progress of each student.
